Squeezebox

April 30, 2010

We’ve set up a number of audio services in dental offices over the years. My favorite is the new Squeezebox Touch. It allows you to play music throughout the office from multiple sources: your music collection, free Internet radio, paid services…you name it. At $300, it won’t break the bank either.

April 30, 2010

76.3% of US residents use the Internet. It is not specified but the % seems to be based on the the total population, including young children not just adults; which would imply that even a higher % of adults use the Internet. Statistics published on Internet World Stats

The crowd goes wild

April 29, 2010

I was at a local business gathering yesterday and overheard this conversation, which perfectly sums up my current take on the i-pad.
Random Business Guy, “I am geting an i-pad on Friday.”
Four people in the conversation group, “Ooooooo.”
Random Business Woman. “What will you use it for?”

You don’t know what you don’t know

April 28, 2010

Surprisingly your answer probably has very little to do with [...]

The secret to printing digital x-rays can be found in an old Nike ad.

CHANGE

April 27, 2010

Peter Drucker, the dean of American management theorists wrote; “Every few hundred years throughout Western history, a sharp transformation has occurred. Optimizing the Image for Diagnosis

April 27, 2010

When looking at a radiograph for diagnosis we are looking at different tissues; soft tissue, bone, tooth, enamel, roots and the special periapical tissues. We are also looking for different pathologies including caries, bone loss, fractures, periapical lesions and so on. With an old fashioned film radiograph we have to interpret all of this from [...]

Apple iPad vs. Amazon Kindle

April 22, 2010

Consumer Reports: As a reader Kindle wins. I have been a very happy Kindle user for more than a year.
The iPad is vastly more versatile than the Kindle, with a growing range of apps, including those for interactive magazines and newspapers, to exploit its almost unlimited possibilities. If e-book reading will be just one of [...]

PC Market Grows Over 24 Percent

April 22, 2010

I think a lot of people are replacing old XP PCs having kept them longer than usual to avoid Vista.
